The basics most people already do
Keeping your seed phrase offline, never sharing it, and using a reputable wallet app cover the most common risk: key theft. These are necessary, but not sufficient on their own.

Even with your key perfectly safe, an account's Owner or Active permission could already list a key you don't control — from an imported wallet, a past compromise, or a scam. Your own key being safe doesn't mean it's still enough to authorize transactions.

Paste your address into a permission checker. A clean result shows only your own address as the key, with the default threshold — anything else is worth investigating before you trust that wallet with significant funds.
